Salud Sin Fronteras Joins the VIM Alliance

Marjorie Hamrell, Director of Clinic Development at the Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) national office, conducted a site visit earlier this month with Salud Sin Fronteras (Health Without Borders).  Students and faculty at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences (TTUHS) Center of El Paso, Texas, launched this health care clinic with assistance from VIM national office.

TTUHSC El Paso’s Migrant Farmworkers Clinic Program Awarded $351,721 Grant

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC El Paso) has received a $351,721 continuing grant from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). This highly competitive grant, awarded through the THECB’s Primary Care Innovation Grant program, recognizes innovative medical school programs that focus on increasing the number of primary care physicians in Texas.

Salud Sin Fronteras Clinica, or Health Without Borders Clinic, held an open house April 5.

Launched by faculty and students at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC El Paso), the clinic treats farmworkers free of charge at El Paso’s local migrant farmworkers center.
